Vancouver harpist

Rebecca is an acclaimed Vancouver harpist who combines her passion for folk music with her training as a classical musician to create a unique expression on this traditional instrument. Her musical studies began in the classical realm and soon expanded to encompass folk music traditions. Since then, she has focused her interest on Celtic music and improvisation on the harp.

Passion for music

As part of her continuing exploration of the harp and its music, Rebecca has attended many Celtic harp workshops in North America and Ireland where she studied with such notable harpists as Kim Robertson, Gráinne Hambly, and Sharlene Wallace. Her approach to performing and teaching the harp draws on her classical background to enrich her passion for Celtic music.

Rebecca is a notable member of the Vancouver folk music scene, giving concerts and playing at events regularly around the city. She has had the honour of performing for distinguished audiences such as the Vancouver International Song Institute, the International Bar Association and the President of Ireland. Her busy schedule includes teaching Celtic harp, recording, and performing with the group the Maenads. Rebecca keeps pursuing the heart of folk music by attending local Irish sessions and studying Irish dance.

She has played at countless locations around the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Her collection of musical styles is very diverse, ranging from Celtic to Early music to Classical.
